Basically, I open one full-screen terminal, launch

tmux
, split its window vertically into 3, and use the middle one to run
screen
. Kind of like this:

htop | screen | gpu-sensors

Within screen, I open ~10 "tabs" and switch between them often, which is easy because

tmux
and
screen
have different command prefixes. But htop and gpu-sensors are always shown, no matter which tab I switch to in screen.

The reason I’d like to emulate this setup with just

tmux
is that RedHat removed
screen
back in RHEL-8. So it might be on its way out everywhere.
