(Reposting because some mysterious bug caused my previous question to just vanish overnight without a trace.)
I am personally fully convinced that Bitcoin’s price will go to at least 500,000 USD per Bitcoin at the latest in the beginning of 2023.
If I sell my coins today to buy a house, I will thus be an idiot. But I also need a place to live, and my own life is ticking away, let alone my old mother’s. I find myself in a really sticky spot, where I simply cannot sell them knowing (or being convinced of) what awaits "soon".
My bank laughs in my face if I so much as mention "Bitcoin". They refuse to give me a loan with Bitcoin as a security. And even if they did, they probably would demand that I send them to them for custody, which is unthinkable to me.
I also cannot earn a percentage off my coins since they, again, all require you to give up the control of your coins. Which violates the whole point of Bitcoin. There is no end to the scammers and thieves and shady people stealing coins, and it would happen if I sent them away to some "BlockFi" or fake "defi" thing.
I’ve tried to ask house brokers if they (or the seller) will accept 1 Bitcoin with the assumption that it will 10x in a couple of years, but they don’t even take me seriously. They are only interested in the current fiat value (or perceived value).
I have virtually zero fiat income, so just "buying tons of Bitcoin" also is meaningless advice for me. I already buy as many satoshis as I can afford.
I cannot think of any way to buy that house yet not get rid of my Bitcoin. Is there something I have overlooked?
My time is running out, but so is my patience for Bitcoin…
